9th Light [Video]

[The video feed turns on to show a magnificent view of the sea. And the back of a Lapras's head. For once, there doesn't seem to be any sign of her Golurk. She swivels the feed around to show a complete 360 degree view, before turning it to face herself. She seems to be in a much better mood than the last time she appeared on camera.]

The sea is so beautiful isn't it? This is my first time I've actually seen it for myself.

I've still got another day before I reach Cianwood City. Hopefully the weather stays clear. Is there anyone else in that area?

I was thinking about it. I'm more interested in exploring, though. I know Shuckle can be found there, and the Safari Zone is that way too, right?

I'm not sure about Shuckle, but the Safari Zone is a little further west, yes. are there any species in particular you're hoping to find there?

Not that I can think of in particular, but I'm sure I'll find some pokémon that would be willing to come with me.

Probably. From what I hear, they have more variety than any route or cave in either Johto or Kanto.

Mm. Even if I don't find any more to join my team, I'm sure it'd be nice just to see the variety.

Got any other plans for your visit? Beach outings, landmarks to explore...?

Not really. Is there anything you recommend?

The beach at sunset, with a few friends. If there's any situation that makes the sea more beautiful, that would be it.

Okay. I'll have to keep it in mind. My companions will probably catch up with me relatively soon.

Were you separated when the whole place started acting strangely? ...More strangely than usual?

You be sure to go swimming in it at least once, okay?

But I don't know how to swim.

I never got a chance to learn.

I am! I've been here with my friends from home ever since I woke up in Johto; it's such a lovely beach side town...

...Oh, you have a Lapras, too?

Mmhm! I raised her from an egg I adopted from another person here.

That's exactly how I got my Lapras! They're so wonderful to have around...

Maybe we can have ours meet when you arrive! I bet it'll be nice to relax on dry land after being on the ocean for so long.

I think Reprise would, too. She hasn't met many other Lapras and I worry if that'll have a negative effect on her...

They're fairly rare, I think. So it'll be good for them to meet.

Some of my other pokémon haven't seen others of their own kind either. If it bothers them, they haven't shown it.

Then maybe I'm just overthinking things. Not all other Pokemon are as rare...but you're right; Reprise hasn't shown any negative effects. In fact, she's one of my happiest Pokemon.

(Let's just disregard the whole "a happy face to hide the tears" possibility thingy.)

Does yours love singing, too? Mine certainly does...she has a wonderful voice.

Mm. All of my pokémon seem to be very happy.

Sometimes! She sounds so...mysterious and elegant. It really is wonderful.

I think that's the best way to describe their singing. It's as if their songs are always from the heart. It takes incredible talent to translate that much emotion into song...

...There really is a lot we can learn from Pokemon, isn't there?

It does. It helps me sleep sometimes too.

I guess so. Each one is different, at least in their own way. I just wish it was easier to understand them sometimes.
