11th Light [Video//Action for Olivine]

[Ushio turns on the feed, giving a good view of Olivine's port. And judging by her team surrounding her, all eating, she decided right outside the lighthouse is a good place for a picnic.]

This is a really nice view, isn't it? I didn't get to spend a lot of time here before I left for Cianwood last time. I'm glad I got a chance, though. I even challenged the gym leader! She was really nice.

[If you look closely, you can see the badge stuck to her Shuckle's shell. Which is currently sitting on her lap.]

Everyone seems surprised when they see that my pokémon are strong. Is that a bad thing?

I have one more question too. Does anyone know how much it costs to rent a house? I don't want to settle down quite yet, but it'd be nice to know before I decide to.

...Are you even old enough to rent one? There might be a minimum age for that.

I'm not sure. I don't know how old I am.

...That could complicate matters. You might want to look into that first, to see if you could be estimated old enough to rent one by yourself.

Would there really be a problem? I've lived by myself before.

Renting a house is different. It involves property taxes, insurance, all sorts of paperwork that only adults can sign.

Of course you should. There's always a chance you won't have any problems.

Of course. Many people have settled down here, so they'd know exactly what you need to do.

Yeah. I don't know where I'd settle, though. I'm just looking into the possibility right now. There's still a lot of places I have yet to see.

I'm pretty fond of Goldenrod. It resembles the cities from my world more than the others.

I like Goldenrod too. There's a lot to do, and so many places to shop. I think it might be a little too busy for me there, though.

You'd rather live somewhere quieter, then?

I think so. But not too far away from everyone.

Are there any cities that have fields of flowers near them?

Cities like Ecruteak have a lot of fields nearby, but I haven't seen any that were particularly filled with flowers. Though I guess that would depend on the season.

I guess that's true. I'll just have to keep asking around then, right? I did like Ecruteak when I went there for he gym challenge, though.

Some people have visited every town in Johto and Kanto, so they'd definitely know about any flower fields around. But even if you find one, there's nothing stopping you from visiting Ecruteak as often as you want.

Mm. Someone has to know. True. I certainly don't mind traveling, either.

It's a nice opportunity to meet new people and see new sights.

I agree. Even though I've met so many new people already.

It's not like you can ever meet too many, unless you speak to every single person you meet in every single town.

Yeah, that might be going a bit overboard.

No one could make time for that many people, so it shouldn't be a problem, at least.

Might just be a matter of appearances. Some people might look at you and think you look soft, timid...

[He presses one hand against his hip and smirks.]

But look at it this way. If they don't expect a tough trainer, that places the element of surprise on your side. The worst thing you can do in a battle is underestimate your opponent.

I suppose that's possible.

Mmhm. I try to think ahead before challenging anyone.

But that doesn't mean they'll think ahead before challenging you. It's convenient. Kind of like how some guys won't hit a girl even if she slugged him in the face.

True. A lot of trainers seem stubborn that way.

It's just the way things work sometimes.

[His eyes narrow, and he slowly shakes his head.]

People don't always see eye to eye. Even a slight difference in opinion can trigger a full-scale war. You could argue that it's human nature. There's a natural tendency to reject what we don't understand just like there's always that tendency to defend your own outlook.

People shouldn't have to fight. Pokémon fight, but it's different. It's not because they hate each other.

I just wish everyone could be happy.

Not a bad wish. Can't really argue it myself, but sometimes the world's just.. cruel, I guess. Rough around the edges, and you've gotta make do with what's there.

I know some people prefer to see the sunny spots hidden behind the clouds.

Wishes can come true. I don't know if it's the same here, but I've done it before.

Any wish. You just need to collect enough lights. I can't see them anymore, though.

Are those lights a part of your world? Maybe that's why you can't see them. This place tends to work under its own rules, after all.

I don't know to be honest. They showed up in the real world as well as mine.
