Since I need the Fog Badge in order to use Surf, would anyone be able to give me any tips for challenging Morty? I know he uses Ghost types, but not much else.

If it'll help, I could tell you the moves my team knows, but some of them have a lot of them.

Also, does anyone know where I can find a Shuckle? I saw a picture of one, and they look really cute.

Morty has a Misdreavus, Haunter and Gengar-- the former is a pure ghost-type, while the latter two are half poison. I assume you already know not to use Normal and Fighting moves against him?

Yes, they will. Though...

If you have a Normal-type Pokémon with moves other than normal moves, they have a chance of being near-invincible. Otherwise, dark Pokémon and maybe a few psychics for the Haunter and Gengar will work nicely.

I may be able to help move that process along. What Pokémon do you have?

Oh, hmm...

[He takes about two minutes just going through the list and thinking up of possibilities.]

Morty has Pokémon at about levels forty to fifty so you definitely have the level advantage with three of your Pokémon, even if you don't bother to use dark moves to your advantage.

But since your Golurk and Gardevoir are both weak to ghost type moves despite the moves they have, I'd say this would be a problematic battle on your end. However, if you train your Mawile more, she will have a good chance against the ghosts.

Actually, she can do more than that. Steel types resist ghost moves and are completely immune to poison.

Your Mawile can be more than just a battle starter.

Yes, she does. And because she already has dark moves, she can be your biggest asset against Morty at higher levels.

You're welcome. And good luck with the ghosts.

I'm pretty sure you could check the 'dex in order to find out where a shuckle is.

But anyway, onto the important shit. I need a list of your Pokemon before I can actually help you out. That way we can figure out if you need to catch anything or if you'll be fine with what you've got.

[Bro takes about a half hour to study the list of Pokemon before he finally gets back to her.]

Alright, so it doesn't look like you really have many with a type advantage going on here. Nakama will help you decently, but your best bet is gonna just be to go in hard and fast using all your special attacks. I recommend Altaria- dragon types are pretty fuckin' powerful all around, you can't go wrong there.

Altaria won't win you the battle single handed though. But I think if you just go in and hit heavy, you'll be able to take him out with Nakama, Altaria and Lapras.

That's all you can do.

And yeah, they seem pretty damn strong. Maybe not enough to get any one hit knockouts, but they should be able to hold their own. If they're determined, then you'll have an easy time kicking Morty's ass.

Words like what?

[It's so deeply ingrained in him that he doesn't even realize what she's talking about.]

... You need to repeat them so I know what the fuck you're talking about.

Oh.

Giiirl, don't be like that.

Y'know. Like, questioning my language and shit. Don't be a stick in the mud. Embrace the profanity. There ain't nothing wrong with using the word fuck. Or shit. Or damn. You need to get out there and kick ass and take name, not sit here questioning the words coming out of my mouth.
plushaeusrumpified: (My pride still stings)

You should be.

But now I need a proper apology. I need to know that this conversation's gotten through to you. So come on, say it. Say fuck. Or anything else, honestly.

Why not? Are you afraid punishment is gonna rain down from the sky or something?

Come on, just this once? For me? I helped you out and everything. You kinda owe me.

They're just words though, I don't really understand the fucking problem here. I mean honestly, why is it such a big deal to you?
plushaeusrumpified: (he's always with you)

Please tell me how much power the word 'fuck' can possibly have, because I fail to see it at all.

I remember seeing Shuckles when I visited Cianwood. They must still live there.

They're not very common, but I think I might have seen a breeder or two sell them. Perhaps they're merely not very popular.

They also live near a town few visit for more than a badge. 'Cute' might not be worth the hassle for some.

For a park that allows you to catch so many Pokémon, it's not visited very often. Even with Fly, its location is not convenient.

Or if it was closer to New Bark Town. Newcomers would love the opportunity to see that many species.

It'd certainly be a change from the Pidgeys.
