12th Light [Video]

[The video starts with a very pleased Ushio's face, before panning around to show Mahogany Town. She's rather excited, having just explored the majority of the mountain behind her. It was something new, something she'd never gotten to see before.]

That was amazing. I know some people don't like caves all that much, but it was a great new experience for me. Even if I didn't find any new pokémon to travel with me.

I don't mind, though. I'm sure there will be plenty of others that will join me in the future.

[Trying to wave down and talk to wild pokémon or bribe them with snacks apparently isn't working so well. But she continues to try anyway. At least there's the breeding center she can always adopt from.]

Now that I'm in Mahogany Town, are there any places besides the gym I should visit?

Yeah. I like to think that they'd find a way of letting you know, though, even if they did... afterward...

How do you approach them?

They all have their own quirks and personalities. I wouldn't be surprised if they were as smart, if not smarter than us sometimes.

I try talking to them, or offering them food. It doesn't always work though.

I definitely believe they're sentient, or that they have souls. And they know things we don't.

Mei speaks into my mind from time to time. I just wish it was easier to communicate with them, though.

I think so...I've seen some of the smaller ones in there. But I don't think you could bring your Onix out or anything like that.

[Upon spotting him, Ushio waves in return. Currently the only pokémon outside of their ball is her Shuckle, which just sort of lazily inches forward.]

I hope so too. I enjoy raising them from eggs. You don't have to wait too much longer, right? Christmas is only a few months away.

_{[Henry eyes Dango, having never seen a pokemon like Shuckle before. He drops his arm to his side and gives both of them a nod. Now that he's out in meat-space with another person, he clams up a bit. Interaction is hard!]}

[Ushio follows close behind, humming idly to herself. She's gotten used to interacting with other people. When she first arrived, she'd never met another person before. At least that she could remember, anyways.]

Yeah. Twenty-four days after my birthday. Maybe I'll get an egg then, too. I haven't bought any recently.

A few months...remember back when everybody woke up and suddenly three days were missing and then all of our poke'gears got all weird? After that, we all came here.

I think so. Easier to train and I think you get more used to each other that way. I've bought more eggs than actually made captures.

Mm. It helps to form bonds between us and them. I have too. Most of my pokémon are from breeders or the breeding center.

[Ushio looks around the restaurant curiously. She has a Litwick herself, but the poor thing is pretty shy. Her Shuckle is enough company, though. Even if it just kind of inches along behind her, and may be tasting whatever it comes into contact with.]

That sounds pretty good. I've never had tomato soup before.
